Therapist
Let’s find your footing together.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re "supposed" to have it all together by now but feel anything but, you’re in the right place. I work with young adults who are ready to trade overwhelm for clarity. My approach is rooted in the belief that growth isn't always linear, but it is always possible when you have the right tools and a supportive environment. Let’s work together to find your footing and clarify the path forward.
Beyond the Office
When I’m not in the therapist’s chair, I’m usually focused on staying grounded in my own life. A few things that keep me human:
Moving intentionally: I’m a big believer in the mind-body connection—whether that’s various yard work or a long walk to clear my head.
A good bite: I enjoy having a local bite to eat from anything from a burger and fries to pad see ew and most things in between.
The great outdoors: I find a lot of peace in nature; there’s something about the steadiness of the woods that puts things back into perspective.
ENDER, SHEPARD MIX
Self-care Coordinator
If you hear a soft snore or see a tail wag in the background of our session, that’s just Ender. While he doesn't have an LCSW, Ender serves as the official Self-Care Coordinator at Stone & Sapling.
His primary responsibilities include professional napping, demanding walks to enjoy some fresh air during my lunch break, and serving as a constant reminder to stay present. Whether it's a perfectly timed sigh or a reminder to step into a sunbeam, Ender is an expert in the art of keeping things simple—reminding me (and occasionally my clients) that sometimes the best thing you can do for your mental health is to take a very long walk outside.
Meeting you where you’re at so therapy doesn’t have to be one more thing…
You have enough on your plate without adding a commute across town to the list. By offering 100% secure telehealth sessions, I make it possible for us to do the deep work from the space where you feel most like yourself.
Skip the Traffic: No driving, no parking, no rushing from class or work.
Your Safe Space: Whether you’re on your couch with a cup of coffee or in your car between appointments, you choose the environment that feels most grounded for you.
Statewide Access: As long as you are physically in California or Oregon, we can work together. This means even if you move for a new job or head back to campus, your support stays consistent.
A modern approach
The days of lying on a couch while a therapist nods in silence are over. At Stone & Sapling, I believe therapy should be as dynamic and real as the life you’re living outside our sessions. My approach is designed for a generation that values authenticity over formality.
1. Collaboration, Not a Lecture
You aren’t a "patient" to be fixed; you’re the expert on your own experience. My role is to act as a grounded co-pilot; offering clinical insight and strategy while honoring your unique values and intuition. We work as a team to figure out what’s working and what isn’t.
2. Tools for Your Tuesday Morning
Insight is great, but it doesn’t always help when you’re spiraling at 10:00 AM on a workday. We balance deep exploration with practical, cognitive strategies. You’ll leave our sessions with tangible tools to manage anxiety, set boundaries, and navigate transitions in real-time.
3. Human-to-Human Connection
I show up as a real person. That means I bring compassion, a steady presence, and, when appropriate, a sense of humor. We can talk about the heavy stuff without it feeling too heavy to carry. If my dog snores in the background or you’re showing up in your favorite hoodie, that’s just part of the process.
4. Nature-Informed Perspective
Even in a digital world, we are rooted in biology. I use the "Stone & Sapling" philosophy to help you find your footing. We look at your environment, your "soil" (your support systems and habits), and your "roots" (your values) to ensure your growth is sustainable and strong.
The meaning of
Stone & Sapling
The name Stone & Sapling reflects the balance between strength and growth that is central to the therapy process.
The stone represents stability, grounding, and the strong foundation that supports lasting change. Many young adults begin therapy feeling uncertain about themselves or their future. Building self-trust and a sense of inner stability creates the foundation they need to move forward.
The sapling represents growth, development, and the natural process of becoming who you are meant to be. Just like a young tree, growth takes time, support, and the right environment. Therapy offers a space where young adults can explore their values, discover their direction, and grow into adulthood with greater confidence and purpose.
Stone & Sapling Psychotherapy is grounded in the belief that every person has the potential to grow into a meaningful and authentic life when they are given the right support and space to develop.
